Community on the Move: Record-Breaking 2025 🚲
In 2025, Reddy Bikeshare didn’t just mark its 10th season in Western New York — it celebrated a community that continues to show up, ride, and move together.
This year, people unlocked a Reddy or Reddy+ Bike 88,116 times and pedaled 136,300 miles, the highest annual totals in our bikeshare history. Behind every number is a story: a ride to work, a test of endurance, a visit to a friend’s gathering, a quick errand, a moment of freedom on two wheels. Together, those everyday trips added up to a record year and a powerful reminder of how bikeshare has become part of daily life across the region. More than half of the people who unlocked a bike this year were repeat users, and a record 190 people logged 100 or more miles by the time we officially wrapped up the season on Nov. 17.
That growth reflects more than increased ridership — it reflects trust. For a decade, Reddy Bikeshare has been built through strong local partnerships and community collaboration. Support from organizations like NYSERDA, M&T Bank, Erie County, Buffalo Niagara Medical Campus, East Side Bike Club, Create A Healthier Niagara Falls Collaborative, GObike, Slow Roll Buffalo, City of Niagara Falls, New York State Parks, University at Buffalo, GO Buffalo Niagara and NFTA-Metro helps ensure that bikeshare remains a dependable, shared resource for Western New Yorkers and visitors.
At the center of Reddy’s story is Independent Health, our title partner for all ten seasons. Since the start, we’ve advanced a simple but powerful idea: that access to healthy, affordable transportation strengthens communities. Today, Reddy bikes are a familiar sight across the region — symbols of connection, movement, and care for one another.
In 2025, that sensation expanded through Project Pollination, Reddy’s first-ever public art initiative. Local creativity transformed 4 new bikes into moving canvases, celebrating neighborhood pride and reinforcing the idea that bikeshare belongs to everyone who rides it — and everyone who sees it roll by.
As ridership grew, so did the system. We’ve steadily grown the e-bike and pedal fleet to 520, giving people in Buffalo, Tonawanda, Niagara Falls & SUNY Buffalo’s North Campus better access and reliability throughout a season that our team is determined lengthening each year. Eight new stations were added to fill demand, and targeted outreach welcomed more low-income households to bikeshare than ever before.
While 2025 marked the conclusion of Reddy Bikeshare’s involvement in Clean Mobility Buffalo, the commitment to equitable access continues. Ongoing investment on Buffalo’s East Side and the East Side Forward discounted pass program ensure that bikeshare remains an affordable, practical option for residents in need of more mobility options.
As Reddy Bikeshare celebrates 10 years in Western New York — and 10 years of partnership with Independent Health — this milestone belongs to the community that made it possible. With engaged riders, dedicated partners, and neighborhoods that continue to embrace biking as a way to connect, Reddy enters its next decade ready to keep building mobility that works for everyone.
