Capping off Reddy Bikeshare’s 8th Season with a Bash

This year has turned into a very exceptional bikeshare season. Our users broke a new record of trips—unlocking nearly 50,000 bikes since late March. We saw individual riders break records of longest single trips and most miles logged in a single year. Lastly, we unveiled Reddy+, our new pedal-assist e-bike fleet.

This is also the first year we tabulated and awarded cyclists who logged the most miles on a Reddy Bike throughout the season. Earlier this Spring, we launched our first ever 100-Mile Challenge contest. In addition to awarding rider credits, each person who surpassed 100 miles between April 1 and September 15th got invited to a end-of-season wrap-up party—our Biketober Bash, Tuesday evening at the Buffalo History Museum!

The Reddy Team, in partnership with Independent Health , presented this year's 100-Mile Challenge Leaderboard at the Bash.

During the contest, 66 Western New Yorkers logged more than 100 miles on a Reddy Bike. The top three earned a pair of Buffalo Bills tickets to the Nov. 13 home football game. Top 10 earned a prize pack, which included a limited edition Reddy+ T-shirt and Buffalo RiverWorks adventure activity voucher. All 66 folks earned $30 of riding credit to further fuel their active lifestyles!

In a special twist this first year, we arrange all of the party guests to be the first to try out Reddy+. The Reddy Team and Independent Health are planning an even larger launch event for Reddy+ in the Spring. And we’re planning to bring back the contest and bash next season.
