PHOTOS: REDDY Celebrates RECORD YEAR OF PEDALING with Biketober Bash IV

Another incredible season of REDDY Bikeshare deserves an equally incredible celebration! More than 100 people—including 100 Mile Challenge finishers, their guests, and community partners—joined the REDDY Team at Riff City Social on Wednesday, Oct. 21, for our 4th annual end-of-season celebration! The free event, organized by non-profit operator Shared Mobility Inc., and Independent Health’s Red Shirt Team, brought our bikeshare community together to celebrate another record-breaking year, recognize our most dedicated riders, and look ahead to what’s next for REDDY Bikeshare.

From big miles to new stations and more ways to ride, there was plenty to celebrate. And, of course, we couldn't let the season end without thanking the people who made it all happen: YOU!

REDDY Bikeshare is growing, and the numbers tell an exciting story. During the celebration, we shared some of the highlights from a season that saw bikeshare reach new heights across Buffalo, Niagara Falls, and Tonawanda.

Here are a few milestones worth celebrating:

  • 101,000+ trips and counting. Riders took more than 101,000 trips on REDDY bikes, surpassing last year’s total trips of 88,000

  • 158,000+ miles pedaled. Together, our riders covered more than 158,000 miles so far this year—eclipsing last year’s record of 136,000 miles.

  • New stations and more places to ride. From Wilkeson Pointe and Erie Basin Marina to the Delevan NFTA Station and beyond, REDDY continues to expand access to bikeshare across the region. We added six stations and introduced free-parking areas.

  • More bikes at UB. The University at Buffalo partnered with us to expand the bikeshare fleet from 50 blue bikes to 75, including 25 pedal-assist e-bikes, giving the campus community even more ways to get around.

We're also seeing growth in sponsored pass programs and discount memberships, helping more people access bikeshare. Every new rider, every trip, and every mile contributes to a more connected, healthier, and greener Western New York.

Biketober Bash was also our chance to recognize some of the riders who went the extra mile—literally!

We handed out prize packs to our top 10 riders on the season leaderboard, celebrating their dedication and all the miles they logged throughout the year. Congratulations to these mileage champions, and a big thank-you to Independent Health for helping make the rider prizes possible!

We also celebrated the 168 people who took on our 100 Mile Challenge, encouraging riders to log at least 100 miles on the REDDY network. Challenge completers earned $10 in riding credit and an invitation to Biketober Bash—and one lucky participant left the party with $200 gift card we raffled off. New this year, we awarded limited edition swag to the first 50 people who requested it.

We're proud of how far bikeshare has come in the 716, and we're excited to keep building on that progress with our riders, partners, and community.

A huge thank-you to everyone who rode with us this season, completed the 100 Mile Challenge, joined us at Biketober Bash, and helped make REDDY Bikeshare part of everyday life in Western New York. And special thanks to Independent Health and all our partners for helping us keep the wheels turning.
